The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper has revealed that the wrestling legend and his family were the targets of multiple death threats before his death in 2015.
Speaking on the Monte & The Pharaoh podcast, Teal Piper recalled several frightening incidents from her childhood, including one involving a stalker who repeatedly targeted the family. According to Teal, the situation escalated when threatening messages were left on the family’s property despite them living in a remote location.
“I have this distinct memory of him having a stalker when I was in, I want to say, maybe middle schoolish. This guy’s name kept coming up. My mom was dropping me off at the bus stop and there’s this sign on the gate with these weird death threats that somebody had put inside our private property, and we lived in the middle of nowhere.”
Teal also described another incident in which she woke up to find a stranger inside the family’s home. The encounter prompted her mother to temporarily move the children to their grandparents’ house while the situation was addressed.

She went on to reveal that one of the most serious incidents occurred when an explosive device was allegedly placed in Roddy Piper’s car.
“He gets home, he parks and got maybe 10 feet out of his car and the whole car exploded. When they investigated it, the only information we got is that there was a tracker on it that had to be tracked within like five miles of the car and that something under the driver’s seat exploded and ignited the car.”
Despite an investigation, Teal said no one was ever identified as being responsible for the explosion.
Roddy Piper, one of the most influential stars in professional wrestling history, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005. He passed away on July 31, 2015, at the age of 61 after suffering cardiac arrest caused by hypertension.
