Rob Van Dam has addressed the possibility of a WWE return, making it clear he remains open to discussions while expressing reservations about how he would approach the end of his career.
Speaking to TMZ Inside The Ring, the former WWE Champion said he would consider a return if the opportunity arose, noting that communication with the company would be straightforward.
“I am open to considering anything,” Rob Van Dam said. “That’s part of being open-minded… when it comes to something like that, they have my number, and they can talk to me. I’ll be appearing at WWE World. We can definitely have that conversation.”
Rob Van Dam Does Not Want A WWE Retirement Tour
While he did not rule out a comeback, Rob Van Dam was less enthusiastic about the idea of a traditional retirement run or a match being promoted as his final appearance.
“As far as a retirement tour… the way I feel now is that I don’t like the idea of labelling something as retirement, or I don’t want to know if I’m having my last match when I am,” he said.
Van Dam, 55, has continued to wrestle sporadically since debuting in 1990 and recently returned to action in February after a time away due to a heel injury. His last WWE match took place in 2014, meaning a potential return would come more than a decade after his previous run with the company.
During his time in WWE, Van Dam achieved significant success, including capturing the WWE Championship and ECW Championship, and delivering one of his most memorable performances at ECW One Night Stand 2006.
For now, while no return is confirmed, Van Dam has left the door open, with any potential discussions still to take place.
