WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair once addressed one of the most talked-about claims of his public life, standing by his long-stated belief that he has slept with more than 10,000 women.
Ric Flair’s assertion has drawn scepticism over the years, but speaking during a 2017 appearance on NBC Sports Radio, the Nature Boy insisted the number is not exaggerated. While acknowledging that not every encounter would live up to glamorous expectations, Flair said the figure itself is closer to reality than many assume.
“Well, if you do the math, I started when I was in seventh grade,”
Flair said. He explained that using smaller numbers would actually make the story sound less believable.
“Let me say that hypothetically, I slept with five people. You’d go to your friend next door and go, ‘bulls—t.’ If I had said, ‘250,’ you’d go, ‘bulls—t.’ If I said, ‘5,000,’ you’d say, ‘Oh, maybe.’ I’m not far off on that number.”
Flair was also quick to clarify that the claim was never meant to suggest every experience was with someone famous or glamorous.
“It doesn’t mean that everybody was Marilyn Monroe by any means,” he said. “But I’m not far off.”
Reflecting on his lifestyle during his peak years, Flair tied the claim directly to his career and persona.
“I wrestled. I was really good at three things,” he said. “I wrestled, drinking, and talking, saying ‘goodnight.’”
Flair’s comments reinforce the larger-than-life reputation he has cultivated over decades in the public eye, a persona that has often blurred the line between reality, exaggeration and performance.
When Was Ric Flair’s Last Match?
Ric Flair competed in his final professional wrestling match on July 31, 2022, at the Ric Flair’s Last Match event in Nashville, Tennessee. Flair teamed with Andrade El Idolo to defeat Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal in a tag team bout that was promoted as the official end of his in ring career.
Despite concerns over his health heading into the match, Flair completed the bout and has since maintained that the 2022 appearance marked the true conclusion of his wrestling career, even as he has continued to make occasional non wrestling appearances across the industry.
