Ric Flair named which wrestler of the current era he believes is the most underappreciated.
In an interview with Casino Beats, Ric Flair offered strong support for Dolph Ziggler, currently competing as Nic Nemeth in TNA, calling him “really underappreciated” and arguing he deserves far more exposure than he’s currently getting.
Flair said that if he were running a wrestling promotion, Ziggler would be on television every single week.
“Dolph Ziggler is really underappreciated. If I were booking him, I’d have him on TV every single week. He’s really good.”
Flair noted that he has long regarded Nemeth as one of wrestling’s most talented performers, a worker whose ring skills and athleticism should make him a key attraction for any company.
Since his departure from WWE in September 2023 after nearly two decades with the company, Nemeth has enjoyed success internationally, winning major titles such as the IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship, the AAA Mega Championship and the TNA World Championship in 2024.
Nemeth made a surprise return to WWE on the 17 November 2025 episode of WWE Raw, revealed as the mystery opponent for Solo Sikoa in the ongoing “Last Time Is Now” tournament. Despite a strong showing, Ziggler came up short after Sikoa landed the Samoan Spike.
Flair’s comments reinforce the idea that Ziggler remains one of wrestling’s premier in-ring talents, perhaps undervalued by much of the mainstream but still highly regarded by veterans and insiders who understand what a skilled worker brings to the ring.
What Did Ric Flair Say Recently About Tony Khan?
Ric Flair praised Tony Khan as a “fantastic” and “total gentleman” in the same Casino Beats interview, saying Khan “legitimately cares about everybody” working for AEW.
Flair added that, in his view, wrestling is “in a good place right now,” suggesting AEW under Khan has become a positive option for performers, even if he acknowledged that the long-established WWE has the momentum to remain at the top.
