It has been a roller coaster of a 48 hours for Ric Flair. He has now personally posted an update on his X account.
“Thank You All For The Messages And Prayers! I Will Get Back To You Each Individually As I Get Stronger. Thank You To All The Tampa General Hospital Staff And Doctors That Put Up With Me Until 4:30am. I Appreciate You All And Thank You For Everything You Did For Me! I Am Focused On My Healing And Recovery Right Now. I Will Be Okay! And Just So You Know For Those Who Were Asking And Wondering, I Don’t Own My Own Facebook Page Anymore. I Apologize For The Reckless Posting Behavior On My Facebook When I Was In The Hospital. It Was Completely Inappropriate!” he wrote.

During Flair’s hospital stay, posts about his career, etc, were being made on his Facebook page.
Flair has claimed he signed the rights to his digital image away and didn’t get the money he was promised to a company named FAM Networks.
In the lawsuit, Flair accuses them of waiting “until Flair needed help managing the digital legacy of everything he had built, presented him with a document he was not equipped to understand, told him he had lawyers when he did not, gave him fourteen minutes to read it and walked away with a perpetual license to his identity.”
Flair told The Independent that he has lost $250,000 thus far.
“I spent more than forty years building the name Ric Flair, with my body, my blood, and everything I had. For decades, to be the man, you had to beat the man. FAM hasn’t beaten me. I trusted the wrong people to help me help manage that legacy. They overpromised and underdelivered after taking control that was never theirs to take and thought it was the whole match. I built this name, I earned this name, and I’m going to fight to take it back! I’m also doing this for every performer and public figure who’s ever been handed a contract like this one. Wooooo!,” he said.
Flair claims he signed a contract sent to him via email. Flair maintains FAM Networks made $20,000 a month alone by monetizing his Facebook page as they replaced the teams managing all of his social media accounts.
“In those fourteen minutes, without the benefit of legal counsel, without a single attorney reviewing a single word on his behalf, and in direct contradiction of a contractual recital FAM itself drafted declaring that the agreement had been negotiated with counsel, Mr. Fliehr surrendered an irrevocable, perpetual, sublicensable license over his name, image, likeness, voice, accounts, and commercial identity – throughout the universe, without restriction, in all languages, formats, and media now known or later developed,” states the court filing.
Flair believes he is owed compensatory damages of at least $5 million for breach of contract; compensatory and punitive damages of at least $5 million for fraudulent inducement; compensatory damages to be determined at trial for violations of New York Civil Rights Law; compensatory and punitive damages for tortious interference with prospective economic advantage, also to be determined at trial; and disgorgement of all amounts by which FAM “has been unjustly enriched at [Fliehr’s] expense,” plus attorneys’ fees and court costs.
Flair was hospitalized on Friday after leaving the Wagamama restaurant bar in Tampa, Florida, and falling outside.
Medical personal were called and took him to the hospital.
Earlier in the day Flair had posted a message to fans apologizing for not being able to attend an event in Seattle.
He wrote:
“Want To Sincerely Apologize To My Agent, Steve Solomon, Washington State Horror Con @wahorrorcon, @bigeventny, And Especially All My Fans In Seattle For Having To Cancel My Scheduled Appearance.
Unfortunately, I Am Dealing With A Blood Clot In My Leg, And My Doctors Have Limited My Travel To 3–4 Hours. Seattle Falls Outside That Range, And As Disappointed As I Am, I Have To Put My Health And Recovery First.
Blood Clots Are Extremely Serious And Can Be Life-Threatening. We Have Seen This Recently With Jalen Hurts And The Complications Involving Blood Clots In His Lungs. It Is A Reminder That This Is Not Something To Take Lightly, And I Must Follow Medical Advice.
I’m Scheduled To Have A Procedure To Strip The Affected Vein, Which My Doctors Expect Will Allow Me To Be Cleared For More Travel Afterward.
Please Know This Decision Was Not Made Lightly. I Am Truly Sorry For The Inconvenience And Disappointment, And I Am Incredibly Grateful For Your Patience, Understanding, And Continued Support.
I Look Forward To Getting Healthy And Seeing You All Down The Road. Thank You For The Love And Support.
Much Love,
Ric Flair
