North Carolina could be getting a professional wrestling hall of fame museum.
A cross-party alliance of state senators has submitted a bill to explore the possibility, feasibility of such a project.
Called the “Ric Flair Act”, the bill is asking for $500,000 to launch a study into the proposal.
Championed by state senators Jay Chaudhuri (D), Danny Britt (R) and Ralph Hise (R), the bill asks that study be funded by the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources and that a report be submitted by next summer.
“Our shared cultured heritage in this state is college basketball, NASCAR and professional wrestling,” Chaudhuri told WRAL. “Professional wrestling still hasn’t gotten the recognition it deserves.”
