WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley has given fans an update…and it isn’t good.
Ripley had to have surgery to repair the slight tear of the meniscus.
She wrote on Instagram: “After just under 14 year in wrestling and doing sports my entire life… It’s caught up to me. Surgery was never a first option for me, but it got to the point that it was needed…First one down…Hopefully no more…I’ve survived, now it’s time to start thriving again so I can get back to what I love to do!See you all down the road.”
The picture Ripley included with the post showed her entire right leg in a cast.
Recovering from such surgery can take 6 to 12 weeks depending on where the tear is and how bad it is.
Chelsea Green defeated Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton and Jacy Jayne in a ladder match at SummerSlam to become the interim WWE Women’s Champion.
