Although Rhea Ripley loves being inside the Elimination Chamber, there’s one part of the match that makes her anxiety spike.
On the February 9th edition of Raw, Rhea Ripley defeated Ivy Nile and Lyra Valkyria in a Triple Threat match to qualify for the Elimination Chamber on February 28th. Ripley will face Tiffany Stratton, Alexa Bliss, Kiana James, Asuka, and Raquel Rodriguez in the brutal match, with the winner receiving a ticket to WrestleMania 42 to challenge Jade Cargill for the WWE Women’s Championship.
Ripley has only been in one Elimination Chamber match before now, having previously taken part in 2022. On that occasion, Ripley was eliminated by the eventual winner, Bianca Belair.
“It’s Craziness Just Standing There” – Rhea Ripley On Waiting To Enter The Elimination Chamber Match
During an appearance on SportsCenter, Rhea Ripley was asked if there was anything she wasn’t warned about before entering her first Elimination Chamber. The Nightmare admitted she didn’t expect the emotions that come with waiting in a pod before being able to get into the match.
“Just how much your anxiety spikes being stuck in one of those pods. That’s the main one. You go into the match and you know it’s gonna be brutal. You know it’s gonna be painful and the steel is not gonna feel good on your body. You know all these things just by looking at the Elimination Chamber.
“But what you don’t take into consideration is if you’re not the first two, you don’t know how long you’re going to be standing in that pod for. So like you have so much time to think and like rev yourself up and then doubt yourself and talk yourself out of it and then rev yourself back up. It’s just, it’s craziness just standing there.
“But that’s all part of the game, you know, it’s all part of the fun. I love Elimination Chamber. I’ve only been in one, and I had the time of my life because even though, yes, it is a little bit claustrophobic in those pods, as soon as you get let out, it’s time to wreak havoc.”
On February 23rd, the final entrant for the Men’s Elimination Chamber was also decided, with Jey Uso defeating Bronson Reed and El Grande Americano to secure his spot in the match. Uso will face Randy Orton, LA Knight, Cody Rhodes, Je’Von Evans, and Trick Williams with a shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship on the line.
