Rhea Ripley is not shying away from the expectations surrounding her upcoming WrestleMania 42 match, especially with a high-profile opponent waiting across the ring.
Speaking on The Ebro, Laura & Rosenberg Show, Rhea Ripley admitted she is already feeling the pressure ahead of her clash with Jade Cargill at WrestleMania 42, noting that the bout has been long anticipated by fans.
“I do. I do. I definitely do,” Ripley said when asked about the pressure. “I feel like this is a match that a lot of people have wanted for a long time, especially at WrestleMania. There’s already so much pressure going into that day and into that match.”
Ripley also pointed to her previous WrestleMania performances as another factor, explaining that she constantly feels the need to match or exceed what she has done in prior years.
“And then also going off of last year, it was the same at WrestleMania 39 when I faced Charlotte. Then going into WrestleMania 40, I was like, I have to do just as well as I did the year before. Like I really have to.”
Rhea Ripley Feels Pressure To Have A Good Match With Jade Cargill At WrestleMania
Facing Jade Cargill presents a different kind of challenge. While praising her opponent’s potential, Rhea Ripley acknowledged the added responsibility of ensuring the match delivers on WWE’s biggest stage.
“But now stepping in with someone that has only had limited experience within the wrestling industry compared to a lot of people on the show, I do have that pressure to kind of uplift her and bring her to a different level so we can go out there and we can make magic just like everyone expects from us.”
