A new WWE signing may have been revealed in an unexpected setting.
During a recent appearance at the University of Florida’s College of Medicine, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. stated that his niece Zoe Hines has signed a contract with WWE.
Kennedy made the remark while introducing U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon, the former WWE executive, during an event focused on nutrition education.
“I now welcome my friend and my colleague, Linda McMahon,” Kennedy said. “Linda’s become a very, very close friend. My niece, Zoe Hines, recently signed a contract with WWE, which Linda has a lot to do with, to become a wrestler.”
He then added a light-hearted comment about the physical toll of the profession.
“And I’m really looking forward to knowing so many good doctors who can treat her after.”
Who Is The Latest WWE Signee, Zoe Hines?
Zoe Hines is the niece of actress Cheryl Hines, who is married to Kennedy and is best known for her role as Cheryl David on HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. She previously attended Boston College, where she played collegiate softball before reportedly pursuing professional wrestling opportunities.
Hines first appeared on WWE’s radar last year when she took part in SummerSlam tryouts, a recruitment event designed to identify potential future WWE talent.
According to reports, she was later backstage at the WWE Clash in Paris, which further fuelled speculation that WWE might sign her to a developmental contract.
Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter previously noted that there had been internal discussion about whether WWE might face pressure to sign Hines if she chose to pursue wrestling, given the company’s long-standing ties with political figures connected to the McMahon family.
“There is the feeling that they may feel pressure to do something with her if she wants to go into this,” the report stated. “Perhaps it’s unfounded, but we’ve heard it from multiple places.”
As of now, WWE has not officially announced Hines as part of its roster, though Kennedy’s remarks have added to the growing speculation surrounding her potential future in the company.
