A third member of the Mysterio family has reportedly started with WWE, with Rey Mysterio‘s daughter, Aalyah Gutierrez, now training at the company’s Performance Center.
It was reported recently that Rey Mysterio’s daughter was expected to join the Performance Center as she begins pursuing a career in professional wrestling. According to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, Gutierrez has now started at the facility and has also been added to WWE’s internal roster.
Gutierrez is currently listed under her real name rather than Aalyah Mysterio. The report notes that this is common for new recruits while they wait for WWE to assign them an in-ring name.
The development potentially marks the beginning of another chapter for the Mysterio family in WWE. Rey made his WWE main roster debut in 2002, and his son, Dominik Mysterio, followed in 2020, establishing himself as a prominent member of the roster.
Gutierrez was also recently photographed alongside several other second-generation wrestlers. Lexis King shared an image on August 11 featuring Gutierrez alongside himself, Marie Malenko, Uriah Connors, Avery Styles and Brooks Jensen.
King is the son of Brian Pillman, while Malenko is the daughter of Dean Malenko. Connors is the son of Fit Finlay, Styles is the son of AJ Styles, and Jensen is the son of Bull Buchanan.
Neither WWE nor the Mysterio family has officially announced that Gutierrez has begun training with the company.
Aalyah Gutierrez Was Previously Involved In A WWE Storyline Featuring Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio
Although Aalyah Gutierrez has not previously competed as an in-ring wrestler, she is already familiar to WWE viewers through appearances alongside her family.
She was featured on WWE television during several of Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio’s storylines, most notably when she became involved in a storyline with Buddy Murphy in 2020.
Gutierrez’s reported addition to WWE’s internal roster now represents the strongest indication yet that she is preparing to follow in the footsteps of her father and brother into professional wrestling.
