Former UFC star Anthony Smith has been arrested in Nebraska and is facing several years in prison.
Smith has been charged with terroristic threats, false imprisonment (1st degree) and domestic violence causing serious bodily injury.
Terroristic threat and 1st degree false imprisonment carry a maximum of three years in prison, plus fines and post-release supervision and domestic violence charge can result in a maximum of 20 years in prison.
The circumstances of Smith’s arrest remain unknown.
One of the most battle tested veterans of the sport. In his defining moment, Smith refused to take a disqualification victory and a title win in his fight against Jon Jones for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship.
Ranked as a top contender throughout his career Smith retired in 2025 after a loss to Zhang Mingyang.
