According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the WWE has included new terms in its arena agreements that specifically target AEW.
The new conditions state that if WWE has scheduled an event in a particular arena, AEW cannot hold their event weeks before or after the WWE event. AEW is also precluded from selling tickets to their show or even announcing it until the WWE had held their event first.
WWE’s new stand on arena events comes as AEW expands its touring circuit with the new Collision show, will be holding their All In event on August 27 at Wembley Stadium in London, England.
It also comes as AEW and NXT ran competing events on the same night last weekend.
So far, there hasn’t been an official response from AEW.
Back in August of 2022, AEW sent WWE a warning via their legal team not to contact AEW talent who are currently under contract to the company after reports circulated that the WWE had done just that thereby possibly interfering with their contracts.
