It has been reported that WWE is planning to have Bron Breakker win a world title in the near future.
Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE plans to have Bron Breakker win the World Heavyweight Championship at some point in the near future, and that was why he was kept out of the world title match scheduled for Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1. As odd as that sounds, according to Meltzer, WWE’s reasoning behind this decision was that they believe SNME won’t do as big a viewership number as a major pay-per-view, and they want as many eyes as possible on Breakker’s eventual title win. Meltzer wrote:
“Breakker is expected to end up as champion, but they have a plan of how and when to execute it… It happening on an SNME show, which is a Peacock exclusive and likely won’t do big viewing numbers, was decided to not be the time or the place.”
This also explains why WWE didn’t have Breakker enter the number one contender qualifying battle royal on the October 20 episode of Monday Night Raw, because if the company didn’t plan on Breakker competing for the title at SNME, it would only hurt his character to be eliminated from a qualifying battle royal.
What Did Bron Breakker Do Instead On The October 20 Episode Of Raw?
Instead of wrestling on the October 20 episode of Raw, Bron Breakker was involved in a segment where General Manager Adam Pearce announced that, due to Breakker and Bronson Reed’s assault on Seth Rollins on the October 13 episode, Rollins would be out of action with an injury and had to vacate the World Heavyweight Title. Pearce then ordered Breakker to give him the World Title that he took from Rollins after The Vision’s assault on him on October 13.
Breakker at first refused, but after some counselling by Paul Heyman, he did eventually hand over the belt.
