Word is the WWE is blocking Elimination Chamber watch parties.
Fightful Select reports that in push ticket sales, the promotion will be enforcing a local blackout in Chicago for the event.
Local business owners in Chicago are not permitted to simulcast the event in their establishments. As other WWE PLEs, the event will air on ESPN Unlimited in the USA and Netflix in the rest of the world.
The same tactic was employed during WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Establishments in a 50 mile radius around Allegiant Stadium were banned from streaming the event even though many of those business wanted to purchase a licencing, broadcasting fee.
According to Wrestle Tix, as of February 20th, 14,895 Elimination Chamber tickets have been sold. The current set-up is for 17,016 seats.
Currently ticket prices on average are $260 USD each for “nose bleed” seats to approximately $700 each for seats on the floor.
Elimination Chamber takes place next Saturday. Besides the men and women’s Chamber matches, Becky Lynch put her WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship on the line against AJ Lee and CM Punk will put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship up against Finn Balor.
