It is looking more and more like TNA Impact will be head-to-head with AEW Dynamite.
Sports Illustrated’s Jon Alba is reporting that talks between TNA and The CW, A&E are picking up steam.
“Multiple independent sources tell The Takedown on SI that there have at least been discussions of TNA moving to a WWE-associated network, and that the company is even open to shifting from Thursday to Wednesday nights to go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite,” states Alba.
“While it was not directly indicated that the destination would be The CW, it was expressed to The Takedown on SI that The CW’s interest in the promotion is legitimate, and that some WWE stakeholders would like TNA to be a part of the network,” he continued.
The Wrestling Observer also reported a few weeks ago that TNA’s new home might already have a strong, solid relationship with pro wrestling and the WWE.
TNA President Carlos Silva has told SI that TNA wanted a new media deal inked by October and Bound for Glory and he now claims there is “positive momentum” in the negotiations he is having. That is partly spurred on by the WWE’s deal with ESPN.
TNA’s current deal in the USA is with AXS TV.
If a successful deal is reached with the CW it could be seen as another recent salvo fired by WWE against AEW. WWE has been actively scheduling WWE-related events in direct competition with AEW. These include:
- NXT Battleground and Saturday Night’s Main Event vs. AEW Double or Nothing on Memorial Day Weekend.
- AEW’s All In: Texas versus NXT Great American Bash, Saturday Night’s Main Event and Evolution 2.
- WWE ran a special NXT show at Philadelphia’s iconic 2300 Arena on August 19, 2025, just one week before AEW began a seven-show residency at the same venue.
- It is being rumoured that the WWE plans an event in Indianapolis on September 20, the same day AEW’s All Out airs which could feature Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena.
