Former AJW and Marigold Referee Dies
Japanese media is reporting that referee Katsumi Sasazaki has died…and his death could be the result of a bear attack.
A 60-year-old worker was reported missing at Semi Onsen, a hot spring resort along the Getogawa river.
At a bloody scene, police found working supplies, personal belongings, scattered around the outdoor bath with animal fur and a severely mutilated human body.
A search party on Oct. 17 found a severely mutilated body believed to be a hot spring inn worker who was attacked by a bear while cleaning an outdoor bath.
Police and a search party found another body some time later in the woods and earlier this month another man was attacked by a bear while foraging for mushrooms. They killed an Asiatic black bear they believed was responsible for the attack.
Authorities have identified the victim as Katsumi Sasazaki. Katsumi Tiger had been a former wrestler turned referee and had worked for various women’s professional wrestling promotions in Japan such as Marigold and AJW.
