The unusual finish to Kevin Owens’ WWE Championship match against Sami Zayn on Friday’s SmackDown reportedly stemmed from a referee error. CM Punk interfered and struck Owens with the championship belt before the referee counted to three, but the match continued, leading to speculation that Owens had missed his planned kick-out. According to Fightful Select, Owens was actually supposed to remain down, and the three-count was intended to end the match, but the referee mistakenly failed to call for the bell. Those involved then adjusted on the fly and eventually reached another finish, in which Zayn pinned Owens to retain the WWE Championship.

Nikki Bella has recalled a frightening driving mistake from high school that she believes could have ended in disaster. Speaking on The Nikki and Brie Show, Nikki said she accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake while parking outside a popular sandwich shop where dozens of students were gathered. Her car went through some bushes before she managed to stop, with Nikki saying she “would’ve probably killed 30 people” had she not reacted quickly. She was so embarrassed and shaken that she initially refused to leave the car. Nikki also recalled another early driving incident in which she took a corner too quickly and briefly sent her vehicle onto two wheels. No one was injured in either incident.
Rush has denied speculation that his absence from AEW programming is due to another injury, insisting he is healthy and ready to return. Responding on social media, Rush said he has only suffered one injury during his AEW run, while also acknowledging that he previously tweaked his knee during the Continental Classic and was advised to recover. The former ROH World Champion rejected claims that he is injury-prone, pointing to his continued training in Mexico, English studies and match preparation. Rush added that he is doing everything possible to remain ready for his next opportunity, declaring that “EL TORO BLANCO is healthy and ready always.”
