Roman Reigns has been removed from several advertised June appearances, with a reported reason now emerging.
According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Daily Update, Romna Reigns is not currently scheduled to be part of WWE Crown Jewel, which takes place in Saudi Arabia later in the month. As a result, WWE has opted not to feature him on television, building towards that show.
“Regarding Roman Reigns being pulled from June TV dates that were announced, the reason we were told is that he’s not going to be on the Saudi Arabia PPV and thus there was no reason to do the TV’s building that show.”
Meltzer noted that without involvement in the premium live event, there was little reason to include Reigns on the associated episodes of WWE Raw. However, he added that the situation could change depending on the outcome of Reigns’ next title defence.
“If he loses the title next week, of course that would be a change and there will be more to the story. If he retains, that’s probably all it is. But Reigns is no longer scheduled for any television in June.”
Roman Reigns’s Next Title Defence Set For Backlash
Roman Reigns is currently set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against Jacob Fatu at WWE Backlash, with a contract signing scheduled for the final Raw before the event. If Reigns retains, his absence from June television is expected to remain unchanged, though a title change could alter WWE’s plans moving forward.
