Raquel Rodriguez once again targeted WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer on this week’s WWE Raw, escalating their feud and further damaging Vaquer’s already injured ankle.
Stephanie Vaquer has been competing with a walking boot since defending the championship in a Triple Threat Match against Raquel Rodriguez and Nikki Bella on the December 29 episode of Raw. Despite revealing the injury last week and vowing she would continue to compete, Rodriguez blindsided her twice on that show, attacking her ankle at ringside and again backstage until Adam Pearce intervened.
Monday’s episode from Düsseldorf brought more of the same. Speaking in the ring, Rodriguez told Michael Cole she was finished waiting for opportunities and would stop at nothing until she received Vaquer one-on-one for the title. Vaquer appeared, but security stepped in immediately.
Rodriguez struck from behind, ripping off Vaquer’s walking boot and smashing her injured ankle against the stage before using the Women’s World Title itself as a weapon. Vaquer was left on the ramp while Rodriguez posed with the belt.
The impact of the attack wasn’t limited to Vaquer’s ankle: Vaquer later shared footage on Instagram showing visible damage to the title belt’s strap. Rodriguez confirmed it on Twitter, writing:
“I don’t want to brag…but I broke the title tonight. Oops.”
Has Raquel Rodriguez Ever Held The WWE Women’s World Title?
No, Raquel Rodriguez has never been WWE Women’s World Champion; she has, however, held the Women’s Tag Team Championship six times, once with Aliyah, four times with Liv Morgan, and once with Roxanne Perez.
Rodriguez has also held the NXT Women’s and NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles during her time in WWE’s developmental brand.
