It wasn’t Ric Flair. It wasn’t Bob Orton. It wasn’t even the “voices” in Randy Orton’s head.
On Smackdown tonight it was revealed that the person Orton has been speaking to on the phone all of these weeks is…Pat McAfee.
As Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Orton traded blows in the ring to start the show Pat McAfee showed up out of nowhere kicking Rhodes in the “lower abdomen”.
“You may wonder why I am here? Why did I kick Cody Rhodes directly in the balls? About a month ago, I was doing a Q/A and I was asked when I was going to return to the WWE and I said I had thought the business had passed me by,” said McAfee.
McAfee was referring to an Instagram story post he did awhile ago in which he said:
“I don’t think you ever say never, especially with the WWE but right now it does not feel like something that’s supposed to happen. It feels like that business has kind of passed me by a little bit, I grew up loving it, dreamed of working it, feel honored that I had the opportunity to work alongside the GOAT Michael Cole but I feel like the biz is in a good spot without me. I’ll continue to watch.”
McAfee went on to say that he can no longer watch the business he has loved since he was a kid.
“I thought it was absolute s–t,” he said.
McAfee said Orton called him and said the business has gone in a direction that “none of us likes”.
On that call, Orton replied that the “us” was the forgotten stars of the Attitude Era who paved the way for today’s WWE success and all of those fans.
“We’ve been forgotten about,” claimed McAfee.

McAfee then began running down the WWE’s own product:
“Why when I turn on WWE TV I have to watch two 5’5 guys doing 45 minute Iron Man matches ten weeks straight for no rhyme or reason when Randy Orton is around? Why do I turn on Netflix and I see all of gorilla #$%&%* themselves episode after episode when Randy Orton is around? Tickets to WrestleMania are still somehow available when Randy Orton is around. Smackdown, fresh off the worst rated episode of all time has a puppet for a champion and a man who represents everything that we hate.”
McAfee then revealed the big secret.
“What I am saying is, Cody, I am on the one on the phone telling Randy Orton he needs to kill everything and it is not just for the fifteenth world title it is because the business your leading is terrible and he is going to save the f—–g business,” said McAfee.
McAfee and Orton then left the ring, made their way to the back giving all those in the gorilla position the evil eye.
