Over the weekend, tensions and turmoil have risen in the Middle East with America joining Israel’s attacks on Iran.
The escalation in hostilities has cast a long shadow over WWE’s Night of Champions which is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this Saturday.
Although Saudi Arabia had a rocky relationship with both nations in the past, it has been improving ties with Iran recently and has a quiet diplomatic relationship with Israel therefore is not part of, or a target in the current conflict. Saudia Arabia has publicly asked for de-escalation and restraint from both nations. Following America’s attacks on nuclear sites Iranian state television stated: “every American citizen or military personnel in the region is now a target”.
The U.S. Mission in Saudi Arabia issued a security alert on June 12 urging U.S. citizens to exercise caution especially near U.S. associated locations, advised Americans to maintain a low profile and to avoid large gatherings or demonstrations.
This has raised concerns among WWE fans that Night will be taking place in what is now a very volatile region of the world.
I think we can all agree that WWE should cancel the Night of Champions event to prioritize the safety of its Superstars
Anything can happen, so it’s better to either cancel the show or hold it at a different venue pic.twitter.com/IAKPWeElBr

🚨│ Just For the safety and precaution of WWE talent and crew, I think WWE should consider postponing the upcoming Night of Champions PLE in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, due to recent U.S. military actions.
and rescheduling it to The O2 Arena in London, UK, maybe to next Saturday.… pic.twitter.com/m4J1sSlMbk— Ceaser Wrestling (@CeaserWrestles) June 23, 2025
