WWE is reportedly exploring new strategies to boost ticket sales for WrestleMania 42 after current figures showed the event running behind last year’s pace.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the company held a multi-department meeting on Wednesday to discuss ways to increase attendance for the two-night event in April. Current numbers are said to be in the 36,000 tickets distributed range per night, which is roughly 10,000 behind where WrestleMania 41 stood at the same point last year.
Despite the slower start, there are still around two months to go before the event. WrestleMania 41 ultimately finished between 56,000 and 60,000 tickets distributed per night, with a combined announced attendance of 124,693, contributing to a record-setting weekend for the company.
The report noted that “WWE plans to keep ticket pricing as is for the time being,” despite the slower sales.
Where Is WrestleMania 42 Being Held?
Both WrestleMania 41 and WrestleMania 42 are being held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. One factor believed to be affecting this year’s sales is concern among some international travellers about visiting the United States due to the current political climate.
Another reported strategy involves WWE prohibiting WrestleMania 42 watch parties at venues within 50 miles of the stadium, a move first reported by Fightful earlier this week.
