Penta made his return to WWE television on Monday night, stepping back into the spotlight after several weeks on the sidelines.
The moment came during a match between Rey Mysterio and Austin Theory on Raw. After Logan Paul interfered by tripping Mysterio on the apron, the numbers advantage allowed Theory and Paul to begin a post-match assault. That was cut short when Penta stormed the ring, taking out Theory with a hurricanrana before Mysterio followed up with a 619 on Paul to end the segment.
Penta had been sidelined since late November after suffering an injury during the “Last Time Is Now” tournament. The injury occurred during a match against Solo Sikoa, when Penta attempted a hurricanrana from the barricade and landed awkwardly on his shoulder. Although he initially tried to continue, officials quickly stopped the match and awarded the victory to Sikoa.
The injury forced Penta to miss what would have been a high-profile reunion with his brother Rey Fenix at AAA Guerra de Titanes, where the Lucha Brothers were originally scheduled to face Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano. Instead, Rey Mysterio stepped in to team with Fenix, and the duo went on to defeat their opponents.
Ironically, that match also resulted in an injury to Dominik Mysterio, who suffered a shoulder issue of his own at AAA Guerra de Titanes. WWE confirmed on Raw that Dominik is now sidelined indefinitely as a result.
With Penta now cleared to return, his reappearance not only adds momentum to his ongoing story with Theory and Logan Paul but also signals that he is once again ready to compete after weeks on the sidelines.
When Did Penta Sign With WWE?
Penta signed with WWE in January 2025 after his AEW contract expired on December 1, 2024, and a vignette aired on Raw’s Netflix premiere on January 6, 2025, teasing the Mexican star’s debut with the company.
He debuted the following week on Raw in a match with Chad Gable, which he won, and has continued to be a main feature of WWE’s programming throughout 2025.
