Penta suffered an injury on last night’s episode of WWE Raw during his Last Time Is Now tournament quarter-final against Solo Sikoa.
Early in the bout, the former AEW World Trios Champion appeared to injure his left shoulder after attempting a hurricanrana from the ringside barrier. Penta landed awkwardly, and the match was quickly halted as medical staff checked on him. Wade Barrett sent the broadcast to an unscheduled commercial break as officials assessed the situation.
After the break, he was still receiving treatment at ringside. With the match unable to continue, Sikoa was awarded the victory by forfeit.
According to Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer, Penta suffered a dislocated shoulder. Alvarez noted that the Mexican star was reportedly keen to “pop it back in” and continue, but the ringside doctor refused to clear him to carry on.
The match had been slated to run approximately 12 minutes, but only a little over four minutes elapsed before the stoppage.
When Did Penta Join WWE?
Penta joined WWE in January this year, debuting on the January 13 episode of Raw, defeating Chad Gable in his debut match. Prior to joining WWE, he competed for AEW/Ring of Honor after he and his brother, Rey Fenix, signed for the company in 2019.
Both he and Fenix left AEW in 2024 after their contracts expired.
