Paul Heyman has explained why he believes WWE has something special in Penta
Just over a year since his WWE debut, Penta has become one of the most popular stars in the company. By Money in the Bank in June, fans were solidly behind the idea of the star winning the coveted briefcase and a shot at a World Title. While he wasn’t able to win the match, his performance was enough to confirm to Paul Heyman that he was a special talent.
“Penta Is Over Like A Motherf***er” – Paul Heyman
In episode three of the second season of WWE: Unreal, Heyman explained that Penta’s connection with the fans was fully on display when he looked to climb the ladder in the men’s Money in the Bank match.
“I know we said this in advance, I know we said this once he debuted. We got something with this f***ing Penta.
“Here are two things, over time that you learn. One, you listen to the star pop when they come out. But you understand it’s just a star pop. But in the match, when they’re selling and they start to come up, what’s the reaction? ‘Cause that’s when they have to care about you, to make your comeback. It’s that 30 seconds that you’re selling and you’re coming up, it’s like, ‘goddamn it, I need to do this, I need to,’ and they rally behind you.
“Penta is over like a motherf***er. When he made the move for the ladder, they wanted him to win so bad. I’m telling you, we’ve got something really special with him.”
Penta is currently involved in the LWO’s feud with The Vision, most recently joining Dragon Lee and Rey Mysterio in defeating Austin Theory, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul on the January 19th edition of Raw.
