WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman has spoken bout his future in the wrestling business as he approaches 40 years of working in the industry.
Paul Heyman spoke in an interview with ESPN and was asked who he thinks the future of the WWE lies with, and instead of naming up-and-coming talent like Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, or Dominik Mysterio, he instead claimed that he himself is the future of the company.
“So, who do we keep our eye on for the future? Paul Heyman. I’m just getting started.”
Heyman went on to say that he feels like he has only really just learned the intricacies of the wrestling business, and that he is just now “figuring it out”. Heyman then said that he believes he has another 40 years left in him, despite being 60 years old, and in 40 years, he will be 100.
“I’m just figuring this stuff out. It took me this long to really I mean I kind of knew it. I was kind of faking it before I made it. Then I started to really get into it. I’m just really figuring this out now. I got another 40 years ahead of me. Wait till you see what I do next.”
When Did Paul Heyman Join WWE?
Paul Heyman joined WWE in 2001, following the closure of ECW, and replaced Jerry Lawler on commentary for Raw after Lawler resigned from the company. He would remain with the company in various roles until he was fired after repeatedly butting heads with Vince McMahon over the creative direction for the ECW relaunch in 2006.
Heyman rejoined WWE in 2012 as an on-screen representative of Brock Lesnar and has since managed numerous stars and factions within the company. He currently manages Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, known collectively as The Vision.
