Pat McAfee is hinting at a major development ahead of WWE SmackDown, as WrestleMania weekend draws closer.
Pat McAfee took to Twitter yesterday to promote tonight’s SmackDown from San Jose, while continuing to back Randy Orton in his push towards WrestleMania 42. In the post, McAfee strongly endorsed Orton as a central figure in WWE’s future before teasing that more is to come.
“Randy Orton is gonna save the business for future generations of wrestling fans,” McAfee wrote. “It is my honor to serve the future generations of wrestling fans as I motivate The GOAT, Randy Orton to not only become 15 TIME WORLD CHAMPION but also, become a man who saved his family’s business.”

Pat McAfee continued by hyping WrestleMania and Randy Orton’s position heading into the event, before revealing that he has plans to announce on SmackDown.
“WrestleMania Saturday Night is gonna be the most historic night in the history of sports. So much on the line. Multi-generational pressure comes to a head. Randy will prevail for all of us,” he wrote. “See also, I have a MASSIVE SURPRISE to announce tomorrow night.”
Friday’s SmackDown, set to take place in San Jose, will serve as the final show before WrestleMania weekend. Orton is currently scheduled to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship, with their match expected to headline Night One of WrestleMania 42 on April 18, 2026, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
