Hello, welcome to House of Glory Las Vegas Culture Clash. I’m new around here, but since I love wrestling, I don’t engage in any other way but with passion. I think I was surprised by how much noise there was with little cohesive talking at the beginning. I felt slapped in the face.
Ken Broadway vs. Raymond Bright
Ha! It took several seconds for the bell to ring because that person clearly wasn’t paying attention. I will remember that for God knows how long. These two were bringing the typical Black energy to the stage that I’m used to seeing. That dancing shuffling-to-the-back move that Broadway was doing reminds me of these dance circles that would start randomly in the school hallway because of us Black folks. It put a smile on my face after the nonsense I had to deal with earlier.
The match has began, but the brawling hasn’t. It took a couple of minutes before either one could take the other down. Bright flipped Broadway onto his butt, was going for a kick only to swerve and throw gold confetti around. Very Goldust according to commentary. “You work with what you got,” because Ken used the ring apron to blind Raymond, pound his head in and deliver a massive boot that floored him. That took a while… But it was effective.
That beautiful European uppercut performed by Ken almost pinned Raymond, much to Broadway’s disbelief. He tried to submit Bright by stretching his opponent’s arms, he did it again, but Raymond managed to free himself. Bright retaliated with an impressive leap frog, backward tuck-and-roll upward kick to the jaw of Ken. He followed that up with a Superman Punch. He delayed himself a little bit instead of stepping on the gas.
Bright may have rolled through his attempt, but he suffered a near-knockout blow to the jaw from Ken before almost falling victim to the famous backbreaker. Broadway missed with the elbow drop as Bright slammed a well-placed standing Moonsault. It failed, unfortunately. A bit of fooliness from Bright here cost him from covering Ken when he had the chance. Which allowed Broadway to deliver the Currency Kick and a second venture with the elbow drop that granted him the triumph.
Winner: Ken Broadway
During a Scramble match that involved JJP, Kuro, JJ Doze, Angel Jacquez, Phumi Nkuta, an MMA A1 Flyweight Champion, and Raheen Royal, Jacquez immediately displayed his narcissism, JJP being slightly silly, and Nkuta was the most incredible by far for someone not from this world. Like Brock Lesnar. They liked giving everyone their spotlight like this is a terrible comedy skit. However, Angel did stun the crowd with a powerbomb to Doze on the ramp. Everyone went silent after that. Nkuta pinned Jacquez. After this, we’re going to watch more matches with Phumi.
Charlie vs. Shotzi Blackheart (c) – HOG Women’s Championship match
Charlie formely known as my girl, Dakota Kai, is here for a title battle against Shotzi, another female wrestler I love seeing more of. Multiple roll-up attempts were initiated for a good portion of the start, the champ changed the momentum in her favor with a missile drop kick after swatting Charlie off. Regardless, Charlie is looking good since the last time I saw her. She bonced back with a double knee manueuver to Shotzi’s chest. Charlie was moving with purpose with that kick to the head of the Champion.
Later on, Shotzi demonstrated her skills by pulling Charlie out of the corner and bending her into the Cloverleaf submission in the middle of the ring. Charlie successfully reached for the ropes. Just as she was charging towards her opponent, Shotzi delivered a kick that Charlie didn’t see coming. She then choked Charlie for four seconds. While being choked again, the audience rallied behind Charlie. An up-and-over roll through was ace from Charlie.
Charlie hit that Chiropractor move that commentary speculated would have awarded her the title if Shotzi wasn’t resilient. A face plant from the Champion momentarily thwarted the challenger. However, Charlie amazed with a double stomp. Shotzi rebounded with a flip kick to the back of Charlie’s head. As time went on, Charlie was back on her feet after suffering from a German suplex and delivered a backbreaker.
Since Shotzi’s signature Senton move nearly lost her her title, she reinfroced herself with a step-up kick to the head to retain. And if things weren’t already something, Steph de Lander came bulldozing Shotzi to state her claim. When I saw her last, she was cozing up to Mance Warner at MLW. One hell of a fight that was my favorite as they respect each other.
Winner: Shotzi Blackheart
Brody King vs. Zilla Fatu – Non-title match
I’ve seen pictures on top of pictures when it comes to Zilla Fatu. I recognized that name from the Fatu family, related to Jacob. It’s been a long time coming for me to get here and watch him brawl. I’m lucky! I can’t say the same for Zilla, though, since Brody delivered a heavy Senton that forced Fatu to roll out of the ring. The weirdest thing was witnessing King arguing with an audience member that appeared to be a huge Fatu fan. Or the fact that King bumped into the guardrail too hard, which in turn, hit the bystander guy. Girl, what…?
Zilla endured most of the beating that exhausted Brody, so much so that he collided with the post once Fatu ducked out of the way. He followed that up with a flying headbutt. His biggest mistake was taking too much time to capitalize, however, he recovered by jumping after King.
Zzzzz… Oof, I’m sorry. Did I fall asleep? My bad. Lance Anoa’i was the only stimulation I got from this. I spoke too soon on Zilla’s prowess because this was his worst match, and hopefully, his last.
Winner: No one
Despite the unnecessary strutting from Joey Silver, he was focused and talented inside the ring. Daron Richardson retained his HOG Cruiserweight Championship by slapping Silver with his lollipop. And someone who dazzled the fans was Bandido when he won with a springboard German suplex out of nowhere over Amazing Red. Even though he lost, Red had a tremendous amount of respect for Bandido.
Elsewhere, the bloody title match, where Charles Mason retained his HOG World Championship versus Michael Oku, was intensity in the making. Oku’s squeezed and popped out eyes as he’s getting choked was actually scary since Amira Blair was reaching for him to fight back until he couldn’t.
The Hardyz (c) vs. The Good Brothers vs. The Mane Event – Triple Treat HOG World Tag Team Championship match
Jae Lyon and Matt Hardy started this match off by attempting to get a good feel of each other’s strengths, Lyon getting the best out of the champ. I’m not sure what the hell was going on, but Karl Anderson suddenly tagged himself in and things actually began. It was far too slow. The Mane Event double teamed on Anderson with beautiful bondage. It was only a matter of time until Doc Gallows came in.
Midas’ quickness versus Gallows’ power seemed evenly matched. Black was doing fine, but Matt tagging himself in slightly frustrated him to return to his corner. Finally, Jeff Hardy jumped into the fray. While Karl was taking too much time to capilaze, Jeff took advantage of that with a couple of punches to the stomach. The Champions were doing well towards the Good Brothers. Matt repeatedly banged Karl’s head against six turnbuckles.
Midas came in and received a spinebuster from Anderson. Gallows and Black meet for the second time as Doc delivered numerous elbow drops to Midas’ chest. Black was kept in their corner for quite some time. The Mane Event was in bad shape, but they wanted this. Matt took out Midas. Lyon attacked Matt. Jeff came in with a stunner. Karl bulldozed one half of the champs with Gallows. The Good Brothers were on top, but they stupidly lost focus once a Tag Team called The Righteous strolled to the ring. That allowed the Hardyz to pin Midas wth a Swanton to retain. Commentary weren’t the only ones who were muddled…
WInners: The Hardyz
