Paige says her current WWE return could mark the final chapter of her in-ring career, as she looks to complete goals she missed during her initial run.
Speaking on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, Paige reflected on being forced to step away in 2017 due to a neck injury, just as the women’s division was entering a historic period. She recalled watching the first women’s Royal Rumble from backstage, having already been retired at the time.
“I was really sad… it was bittersweet,” Paige said. “I was happy for the girls, but I wasn’t part of it and didn’t know if I ever would be.”
Now medically cleared and back in the ring, the former two-time Divas Champion said she is focused on making the most of the opportunity while it lasts, and that she doesn’t think that she will continue to wrestle after her current run with WWE is over.
“I don’t think I’m going to be wrestling after this run,” she admitted. “I just want to enjoy my time and embrace everything.”
Paige Wants To Compete In Various Stipulation Matches In Her New WWE Run
Paige also reiterated her desire to compete in matches she previously missed, including the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber. Her return came at WrestleMania 42, where she replaced Nikki Bella and teamed with Brie Bella to win the Women’s Tag Team Championship. Having played a key role in WWE’s women’s evolution, Paige now appears focused on closing out her career on her own terms.
