Paige has shared the moment she learned she had been medically cleared to return to WWE in-ring competition, following her comeback at WrestleMania 42.
Paige made her return at WrestleMania in Las Vegas, stepping in to replace the injured Nikki Bella in the Women’s Tag Team Championship match. Teaming with Brie Bella, the duo went on to win the titles against Lash Legend, Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair.
The appearance marked Paige’s first WWE match since 2017, when a neck injury forced her into retirement. Although she later returned to in-ring competition outside WWE, including a run in AEW, she had not been cleared by WWE to wrestle again until recently.
In a video shared on Instagram, Paige documented the moment she received confirmation she could return, showing an emotional reaction as she processed the news.
“The day I found out I was cleared to come home to WWE… what an emotional journey,” Paige wrote. “It was a long road but man it was worth it. Thank you everyone for the love since I returned, it means the absolute world to me.”
The footage highlighted the length of her recovery and the uncertainty surrounding her future in the ring, with Paige describing the process as a long journey before finally receiving clearance.
Paige Wins Her First WWE Championship In Nearly 12 Years
Paige’s WrestleMania return not only marked a significant comeback but also saw her immediately return to championship success, with the former NXT and Diva’s champion winning her first title in WWE in nearly 12 years, as her last reign as Diva’s Champion started on August 17, 2014, and ended on September 21, 2014.
