An oldie but a goodie is making a return.
Japanese video game publisher HAMSTER Co. is releasing Tag Team Wrestling for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
It will include a bunch of new quality-of-life features, such as screen filters and additional modes., available digitally for the Arcade Archives series.
The Arcade Archives version for Nintendo Switch and PS4 will be priced at $7.99, while the Arcade Archives 2 version for PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S will cost $9.99.
The original game was released by Technos Japan in 1983 and one of the very first wrestling games to ever be produced. In the game, players control a face tag team battling a heel team. After 10 victories, the player becomes tag team champions and must defend the titles against the heel team. Whenever they lose, the game is over.
“Enjoy the world of professional wrestling as you control the hero wrestler and aim to become world champion. Quick move selection and the skillful tag team work unique to tag matches are the keys to victory! Sometimes brawls spill out of the ring, and unexpected intruders might even show up!?” stated HAMSTER in an announcement.
The “Arcade Archives” series is developed with the concept of faithfully reproducing classic arcade games. It also includes new features such as difficulty and screen settings, rewind, rapid-fire and multiple save slots. In addition, players can compete for the best scores with players around the world through online rankings.
