Oba Femi has shed light on his brief face-off with Brock Lesnar during the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, explaining that the interaction was always intended as a teaser for something bigger.
Speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast, Oba Femi said the segment was designed to test the audience reaction rather than lead to an immediate physical exchange.
“I got to interact with him, but not too much on the wrestling, because it was always designed to be a teaser, just to see how people react to it,” Femi said. “That’s what a lot of wrestling is. It’s not like everyone just knows. A lot of times it’s like, let’s plant this seed, let’s see what the crowd does, and based off what the crowd does, that’s going to be our next move.”
Femi said both he and Lesnar understood the purpose of the moment, and the positive crowd reaction confirmed the direction going forward.
“It was a face-off. It was a teaser. We knew what it was from the jump. Now we know we have something, like we really have something. I think going from here, we’ll probably have more interaction down the line.”
When Was Oba Femi’s Last WWE Match?
Oba Femi last competed on the February 6 episode of WWE SmackDown, where he faced off against Kit Wilson, defeating the 31-year-old British Superstar in just 48 seconds.
Prior to that match, Femi last competed in the Men’s Royal Rumble Match, where he entered at number one, lasting just over 39 minutes and eliminating five other competitors.
