The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic is back in NXT and tonight the first round begins. If either team brings some “plunder” into the equation you know I won’t mind at all.
Dustin Rhodes gives us a lowdown on how much the tournament means to wrestling and to him. He will present the trophy to the winners.
Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno versus Los Americanos – Tyler Bate (as Bravo Americano) and Pete Dunne (as Rayo Americano) – Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic First Round
Bravo gives Dar a flying hurricanrana and Rayo splashes him for a two count. Romeo has Ray from behind. Rayo snaps his fingers…in a very familiar way. He does the same thing to Dar but stomps on his fingers. Romeo leaps off of Dar’s back dropping Bravo to the canvass with a big slam. Bravo is pinned with a High Low combination.
Winners: Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno
Kendal Grey is in a psychologist office. She describes her vertigo as “dizzy moments that come and go”. She is ready to get back into the ring. Doc wants to know how she is feeling. She is upset at not being cleared and not being able to fight for the title she lost.
Kali Armstrong versus Skylar Raye
Kali pounces into the official when Raye dodges. Reina Volcan leaps into the ring. She clotheslines Raye. She scoop powerslams Kali. She puts Raye into a Torture Rack and then slams her down hard. Raye is covering Kali. The official recovers to give Raye the victory.
Winner: Skylar Raye
Saquon Shugars and Shiloh Hill are with GM Stone in his office. Hill offers to lend Shugars some red mist to use on Tristen Angels. Shugars offers him seven bucks. Stone stops things before they go too far. Stone promises to see if he can line up Angels and Nakaku for them both.
We see footage of Wren Sinclair bring whisked away from the Performance Center an hour ago because she is still suspended.
La Catalina (AAA Reina de Reinas Champion) and Thea Hail versus Zaria (NXT Women’s North American Champion) and Kelani Jordan (NXT Women’s Champion)
Catalina gives Jordan and Zaria running hip attacks in opposite corners. Zaria gives Catalina an F5 but Catalina flies into Jordan. Hail counters Zaria’s F5 with a roll-up.
Winners: La Catalina (AAA Reina de Reinas Champion) and Thea Hail
Sean Legacy and Zilla Fatu are in the locker room. They are going to get their revenge on BirthRight tonight. Dorian Van Dux has a punctured lung and won’t be able to join them tonight. DVD shows him. He claims he can fight tonight.
“You aren’t medically cleared. You have a hole in your lung,” says Legacy.
Legacy tells DVD he needs him for the Dusty Cup. Legacy says he has someone and in comes Prosper.
Cruz Montana addresses the NXT Universe. He is interrupted by DarkState’s Osiris Griffin. He is tired of hearing about what Cruz has accomplished in the past. Cruz says he can run circles around Griffin. He says Griffin couldn’t cut it in the NFL. Cruz finally socks Griffin. Officials try to break them up.
Stone congratulates Rook on becoming the Number One Contender. He has an open mike tonight. Hank and Tank give Rook some advice.
The Creed Brothers versus – Jax Presley and Harley Riggins – Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic First Round
Riggins is dumped off the top rope. Julius hits a big suplex on Presley. The Creeds double slam Presley for the three count.

Zilla Fatu, Sean Legacy and EK Prosper versus BirthRight
Fatu is hot-tagged in and he goes nuts on BirthRight. A uranage to Uriah Connors. A Bubba Bomb to Lexis King. A splash on Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo. King eats a Samoan Drop. Connors gets slammed again and takes a hip attack. Grace distracts the official. Connors puts up his knees to stop Legacy’s splash. Legacy is rolled up.
Lexis King gets in Fatu’s face after the match. BirthRight pulls out King before he suffers the Spike.

Zaria whines about her team’s loss tonight to Emily Agard. On the monitor behind her, there is some old footage playing of Zaria, perhaps she was in a movie? It was all Izzi Dame’s doing and she comes in laughing and grinning.
NXT Champion Grayson Waller is in the ring waiting for Mason Rook.
“When I came back I was wondering if there was anyone hungrier than Grayson Waller and there is. He is Mason Rook,” says Waller.
Waller says they have something in common. They left their friends, family and travelled halfway across the world to follow their dreams.
“I am running marathons and you run to the front door for your Door Dash order,” laughs Waller who claims that Rook is only 75% in. He isn’t willing to do the 25% which is the hard work and make himself the face of the brand. He calls Rook complacent and lazy. He is going to take Rook into the deep waters and bury him.
“I have a Theory why you are back in NXT. Maybe you didn’t fit the Vision on the main roster. Maybe you are just upset that John Cena knew who I was before I ever stepped foot in a WWE ring,” counters Rook. “I am not here because I failed at another sport or brand. I am certainly not here because I wasn’t good enough elsewhere.”
Rook says that being great on the stick won’t save Waller this time.
