My favourite time of the year is almost here. Halloween is just around the corner and so too is Halloween Havoc. I wish the gigantic pumpkin would return. Sigh.
Anyhow, let’s see what NXT will be building for spooky season.
Jaida Parker and Thea Hail psyche each other up for their match tonight.
Jaida Parker versus Kelani Jordan (c) NXT Women’s Championship Match
The NXT crowd is all for Parker. Jordan tries to be flippy but Parker is far too strong. Jordan yanks Parker by her hair down to the mat. Jordan mocks Parker with her own taunt, dance. She misses a standing senton though and Parker punches her in the face.
Jordan has Parker gasping for air after a series of machine gun kicks in a corner. Jordan kicks out of a sit-out powerbomb. Parker misses a sliding kick. Jordan boots her in the face and off the apron. Jordan drops Parker with a neckbreaker on the floor.
Jaida! Jaida!
Jordan keeps working on Parker’s neck. Parker hits a flying leg drop on a…standing Jordan. Yeah, it is weird but it works, I guess. A series of clotheslines has Jordan reeling. A falcon arrow gets Parker a two count. Jordan gets caught in the Rings of Saturn but rolls Parker over so she had to give up the hold.
Parker ties Jordan in the ropes and delivers her big, running butt drop. Parker goes for Hypnotic but awkwardly misses hitting her neck in the corner. It is really quite sloppy. Jordan pins Parker with her moonsault.
Winner: …and still NXT Women’s Champion, Kelani Jordan.
After the bell, Wren Sinclair attacks Jordan with punches from behind. Wren even clocks official Victoria D’Errico when she tries to stop her. Wren wallops Jordan with a kendo stick. Officials, security run out to stop the mayhem.
Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno meet with GM Robert Stone in his office, yesterday. They want the Creeds after being jumped by them last week. Stone set the match…well…in stone.
Myles Borne is cutting promos in his car again. What is this guy homeless or what? Borne admits he might have been paranoid. He might have made a mistake. He admits he judged the situation wrong.
Tavion Heights is watching the post on his phone backstage. Hank and Tank think Borne is being sincere. They tell Heights to chat with Borne face to face and resolve things. Heights is going to win the North American Championship tonight so all that drama can wait.
Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno versus The Creeds
Brutus and Dar brawl on the floor. Brutus heaves Dar into the ringside barricade. Creeds win with their double slam thingy.
Winners: The Creeds
The BirthRight is backstage. They feel NXT has been disrespecting them. Fit Finlay and William Regal approach their kids.
Regal: “It is time you stepped up and grabbed the attention of NXT and all the WWE.”
Finlay: “They took your title, Lexis. What are you going to take away from them?”.
Regal says he has a long history with Zilla’s father. Regal tells his son to bring him a piece of Zilla Fatu…tonight.
GM Stone reads Wren the riot act backstage. She is tired of being everyone’s doormat. She was defending Kendal for the both of them. Stone suspends Wren, security leads her away.
Charlie Dempsey addresses the NXT Universe from the middle of the ring. He feels underappreciated. He is substance over style. He won’t compromise himself for NXT. He criticizes NXT for catering to failed football stars and the like. Dempsey asks Zilla to come and join the BirthRight.
Zilla arrives. He agrees that most of what Dempsey was saying is true. He appreciates the invitation but he isn’t going to get “lost in the sauce”.
BirthRight surrounds the ring. Uriah Connors: “We aren’t asking you any more, Zilla. We are telling you.”
ZIlla cannot contend with the numbers and they beat him down in the middle of the ring. Zilla fights back. Arianna Grace slaps him in the face. As Zilla is distracted, Lexis hits him with a steel chair from behind. BirthRight continues punishing Zilla and then put him through a the announce table. Dempsey rips off Zilla’s shirt for his dad.
In a promo, NARAKU tells Hill that he is messing with forces he doesn’t understand.
Saquon Shugars, Tony D’Angelo and Mason Rook try to get on the same page in the locker room for their big tag match. Tony isn’t sure he trusts either of them based on his history with them. Tristan Angels interrupts and mocks Shugars as just a follower.
Tavion Heights versus Jackson Drake (c) – NXT North American Championship Match
Ricky Smokes trips up Heights from the floor. Tavion drops him with a forearm to the face. In the second match of the evening to do this, Drake attacks Heights’ throat, draping it over the apron, working it over with neckbreakers.
Drake leaps off the top rope and misses Heights. He lands awkwardly claiming to have hurt his ankle. Heights puts Drake in an ankle lock. Heights shot blocks Drake. Heights gives Drake a German Suplex on the apron.
Drake hits a running knee smash to Heights’ face. 450 splash for the win.
Winner: …and still NXT North American Champion, Jackson Drake.
Myles Borne is in the audience. Heights and Borne stare each other down from a distance.
EK Prosper tries to hype up Cruz Montana and Keanu Carver for the main event. Cruz convinces the others that they need to work together to survive tonight.
The Women’s North American Champion, Zaria comes down to the ring. Zaria says she has beaten all of NXT’s favourites. Izzi Dame takes issue with Zaria calling herself the dominant female superstar in NXT. Thea Hail is out next. She doesn’t give a crap what Dame has to say. Zaria mocks Hail’s friendship with Parker. Hail tells Zaria she just hasn’t gotten over Sol Ruca.
Zaria head butts Hail. Hail dodges Zaria. Zaria hits a steel post. Hail whips Zaria into another post. Zaria taps to Hail’s arm lock.
Hank and Tank stop Borne backstage. They encourage him to mend fences with Heights.
Finlay and Regal meet with The BirthRight backstage. They are very proud of them. The Vanity Project interrupts. Drake believes he deserves praise too. He kept his title tonight.
“Don’t get to comfortable. BirthRight is on the hunt,” says Regal.
Vanity, Birthright, Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux, The Creeds, all get into an argument about who the better team is.
Kali Armstrong thinks Hail just tried to “jump the line” to get a title shot. Lizzy Rain has unfinished business with Armstrong though. They need to be separated by security.
Mason Rook, Saquon Shugars and Tony D’Angelo versus EK Prosper, Cruz Montana and Keanu Carver
The winning team meets in a triple threat next week to see who the next challenger for the NXT Championship is.
The champ, Grayson Waller, is on commentary. The match begins with a brawl in the middle of the ring.
Montana almost pins Rook with a roll-up. Prosper whips Cruz into Rook in their corner. Carver splashes Rook. Cruz and Carver slam Rook off the top rope. Prosper lands his top rope splash for a two count.
Rook pushes Carver into Cruz. Prosper tags in. He leaps off Rook’s back drop kicking Shugars off the apron. Rook back body slams Prosper. D’Angelo takes on everyone on the other team. Pop-up powerslam gets D’Angelo a two on Prosper because Carver saves the day. D’Angelo ducks as Cruz charges with a clothesline. Cruz and Carver go over the top rope to the floor.
Shugars splashes Carver and Cruz on the floor. Prosper misses a splash. D’Angelo spears Prosper. D’Angelo slams Prosper to the mat. Rook blind tags in. Rook picks up D’Angelo and they both cannon ball into Prosper. Rook pins Prosper. Rook and D’Angelo argue in the ring as Carver and Cruz fight in the entrance way.
Winners: Mason Rook, Saquon Shugars and Tony D’Angelo
