Zilla Fatu made a big splash on NXT last week and tonight we will discover what impact he has made on the championship scene.
Speaking of which, a very pissed off Cruz Montana is out to address the NXT Universe. Zilla has made Montana’s hit list.
“There is no way I am going to let you come in here and take what’s mine,” said Montana.
The same production geek who tried to get Grayson Waller to quit his tirade tells Montana that Zilla isn’t here this week.
The AAA Cruiserweight Champion, Rey Fenix, comes out. He is happy to see Montana. He is just there to find out who his challenger is next week.
“If someone were to cost me a title shot I would be ready for them too,” said Fenix telling Montana he has his back.
Montana says that they have gone to hell and back all over the world but he respects Fenix. Montana gives way to Fenix. He dares Zilla to meet him in the NXT parking lot.
EK Prosper vs. Romeo Moreno vs. Tristan Angels vs. La Parka – AAA Cruiserweight Championship No. 1 Contender’s Fatal 4-Way Match
I love Prosper but he needs to separate himself from other personalities like Je’Von Evans. Angels is a great heel. He just needs a little polish.
Moreno and Prosper double drop kick sending him rolling out of the ring. Prosper ignores Moreno leaping out of the ring onto Angels. Moreno drop kicks Prosper so he DDTs Parka. At the same time, Prosper drop kicks Moreno and splashes Parka for a two count.
Angels throws Parka out of the ring. Prosper leaps off Moreno’s back giving Angels a flying leg lariat. He drop kicks Moreno and pins him with his moonsault from the top rope.
Fenix comes into the ring to show off what is on the line between him and Prosper.
Winner: …and the No. 1 Contender to the AAA Cruiserweight Championship, EK Prosper.
Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair chat backstage. Grey says she has been cleared and is ready to go despite the bandage on her ear. The Vanity Project stops by. Brad Baylor asks Grey if she need someone to take care of her.
“You guy remind me of the guys I would wrestle in high school,” says Grey.
Smokes says they are just there to offer advice for their tag team match tonight. Sinclair says she taught Borne and Heights all they know from their time in NCCC.
Nattie vs. Thea Hail
Nattie tries to attack Hail before the bell but the official steps between them.
Nattie backs up Hail into a corner laying in some shots. Hail fires back. Nattie takes her down with a shoulder tackle. Hail’s Thez Press drives Nattie out of the ring. Hail then dives onto Nattie and her back-up at ringside.
As she is about to wrap Hail in the Sharpshooter, Nattie slaps her in the face. Hail eventually submits as Nattie taunts Jaida Parker.
Petrovic and Lyons hold Parker as Nattie locks in the Sharpshooter again.
Winner: Nattie.
Lucien Price and Bronco Nima meet backstage. Nima encourages Price to bring the title back home.
Lucien Price vs. Lexis King (c) – Men’s Speed Championship Match
King keeps bailing from the ring. He hides behind the rest of The BirthRight. Price has to chase him back into the ring. When Price lifts King onto the top rope Connors and Dempsey pull Price down tripping him up. King pins Price with the Coronation
The BirthRight beat Price down. Nima comes to the rescue.
Winner: …and still Men’s Speed Champion, Lexis King.
It is time for Grayson Waller to have his say.
“I have to deal with another Samoan taking bread off my table,” says Waller in reference to Zilla. “You’ve made a huge mistake. I am not scared of you or your family. I am from Western Sydney. I have been fight “Uces” my entire life.”
NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo arrives who says he will knock all of his challengers on their asses.
Cruz Montana is back. He reminds Grayson he was the one staring at the lights when they last met.
Finally, GM Stone comes out to sort out the chaos. He agree that Montana and Waller got screwed and Zilla isn’t even under a contract yet. At Heat Wave it will be all three men fighting for the NXT Championship.
Shiloh Hill is chatting to Lizzy Rain. Rain is pissed at Armstrong for messing with her interview last week. Myles Borne needs to speak to Hill. Borne reveals to Hill that if he can beat Jackson tonight he will give him a shot at the NXT North American Championship at Heat Wave.
Back in Stone’s office, Stone arrives to see Keanu Carver sitting in his chair. Carver wants to be in the championship match at Heat Wave but Stone says he has to earn that right. Carver knows his time will come. He has brought Stone a coffee.
“Drink the coffee, Stone! Drink the coffee now!” snaps Carver.
Kam Hendrix storms into the office. Carver ain’t too happy about that.
Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair vs. Kelani Jordan and Kali Armstrong
Grey and Jordan end up fighting on the floor. Jordan trips Grey so she slams her head and ear into the steel ring steps. Sinclair is stunned. She bounces off the ropes only to be powerslammed and pounced by Armstrong.
Winners: Kelani Jordan and Kali Armstrong
In an interview segment Saquon Shugars and Dion Lennox hurl insults at each other. Shugars says that Lennox has never done anything on his own. He needed a team behind him his entire life. Lennox says Shugars has always been in his shadow and that is where he will stay and he will prove that next week. They are fighting in a weaponized steel cage next week.
Zilla will be arriving to sign his official contract with NXT.
Shiloh Hill vs. Jackson Drake – No. 1 Contender to the NXT North American Championship
Vanity Project remains at ringside. Drake tries to throw Hill off his game by begging off constantly. Drake throws chops but Hill throws some punches. Myka Lockwood leaps on the apron. Baylor punches Hill in the head from the floor. Drake throws Hill over the top rope. Baylor and Smokes stomp a mudhole in Hill.
Lockwood is back on the apron distracting the official. Baylor and Smokes pull Hill to the floor punching him. The official heads to the floor physically stopping Smokes from punching Hill. The official bans Lockwood, Baylor and Smokes from ringside.
Hill splashes Baylor, Smokes and Drake. Hill head butts Drake off the top rope. Drake falls into the official. NARAKU comes out from under the ring spitting mist into Hill’s face, eyes. Drake pins Hill with a splash.
Winner: …and No. 1 Contender to the NXT North American Championship, Jackson Drake.
Women’s North American Champion Zaria is in Stone’s office. Armstrong appears. She reminds Stone she just pinned the Speed Champion. Zaria says after Heat Wave there will be no Speed Championship to challenge for. Armstrong calls Zaria a “red-headed heffer”. Stone rules that Zaria will battle Armstrong and if Armstrong wins the unification match at Heat Wave will be a three-way match.
A van arrives with Zilla Fatu. As he makes his way into the ring NXT Champion Tony D’Angelo looks on.
“This is a big moment for me to be signing with the number one wrestling company in this world and to start here at NXT,” he says as the crowd cheers Umaga’s name.
Zilla says he isn’t another “nympho baby” when he means to say “nepo baby”.
“I am here to let my talent speak for itself. Last week, I made a lot of folks mad but all I have to say to that is get used to it,” said Zilla.
Grayson Waller comes out and is held back by security. Zilla offers to give him another black eye. Montana shows up. Zilla welcomes him to his show. Zilla announces that Heat Wave will be a fatal four-way for the NXT Championship.
