Who are the number one contenders in NXT? Too bad they didn’t have some kind of point system, eh?
No matter. We are going to find out who will be the next challenger (s) for Zaria and the NXT Women’s North American Championship and The Vanity Project and their NXT Tag Team Championships during tonight’s broadcast.
Kali Armstrong has something to say so she is in the middle of the ring. She creates her own opportunities. Since she turned on Grey the whole NXT universe is talking about her. She calls Nattie and Kendal Grey “heffers”. It won’t be long before she takes the belt away from Grey. Lola arrives. She tells Armstrong to “slow her roll” and characterizes her as impatient. They begin to argue about who deserves a shot at Grey next.
Out comes Kelani Jordan. Jordan thinks they both need to go to the back of the line. Jordan and Lola get into it. Armstrong takes them both out with a running tackle.
Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy versus BirthRight versus OTM versus DarkState – Number One Contenders for the NXT Tag Team Championship
In the middle of the match, Saquon Shugars arrives in the audience carrying a baseball bat. Dion Lennox chases him off before he can do any damage. As BirthRight and OTM brawl on the floor, Van Dux and Legacy splash Uriah Connors for the win.
Winners: Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy
Jaida Parker rips on Nattie in a taped segment. She accuses her of coming to NXT to make her “stale ass” relevant again. She is going to take Nattie to a place she has never been.
Saquon Shugars is interviewed by Emily Agard backstage. Shugars is going to move smarter to get his “licks” back on DarkState. He is outnumbered though and needs to find from friends.
Keanu Carver versus Tank Ledger
Ledger gives Carver a German Suplex. He gets right back to his feet. Ledger bounces off the ropes. Carver drop kicks him down hard. A big slam for the win.
Winner: Keanu Carver
A taped segment with Naraku. He warns Tony D’Angelo that even though he beat him at Great American Bash that was just one battle in their war. He promises to break Tony’s will.
Kam Hendrix and Tate Wilder are backstage. They argue over who would have a better chance against Naraku. Hendrix is wearing a leg brace of some sort due to what Mason Rook did to him.
“When I am 100% he is cooked,” says Hendrix about Rook. Rook storms into room. Rook wants to know why Hendrix is going around saying he put him on the shelf.
“If I put you on the shelf your ass wouldn’t be getting back up,” says Rook.
Nattie, Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic are in the locker room. Nattie calls herself a “low key legend”. Nattie gives Layla a pep talk before her big match.
Layla Diggs versus Izzi Dame versus Lizzy Rain versus Thea Hail – Number One Contender for the NXT Women’s North American Championship
Rain kicks out of Hail’s roll-up. Rain nails her with Thunderstruck. Dame hits Rain with a running knee. Layla splashes Hail from the top rope for the win.
Winner: Layla Diggs
A tape promo from Nikki Blackheart. She is in NXT to cause devastation and destruction. She warns the viewers that she is going to take down all of their favourites. Her name is now Rema Volcan.
Tavion Heights is in the ring. He apologizes for how he has been acting lately. The Vanity Project comes out. Heights takes his shot first but Vanity quickly stomps a mudhole in him. Myles Borne to the rescue. The two men shake hands afterwards.
Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar chat backstage. Dorian Van Dux and Sean Legacy walk up to them. Moreno and Dar congratulate Dux and Legacy. Moreno thinks he and Dar should form a team. Dar says in order to do that they must get to know each other better to the point that they can read each other’s minds. Legacy and Dux encourage them to team up.
Niko Vance versus Shiloh Hill
Tristan Angels arrives at ringside. He distracts Hill. He has Hill’s tooth. German Suplex by Vance and a running pounce or whatever that is. Hill chases Angels to the back.
Winner: Niko Vance
Shawn Spears attacks Vance from behind with a steel chair.
Kendal Grey versus Nattie – NXT Women’s Championship Match
Grey is dumped out on the floor. Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic mock her. Grey jumps up on apron. She slides under Nattie, runs across the ring and off the ropes. Nattie catches her, bounces her off the top rope and slams her down. Nattie runs across her back but Grey catches her and puts her in an Ankle Lock.
Nattie rolls through sending Grey flying out of the ring. Grey is distracted by Lyons and Petrovic. Nattie strikes from behind. Wren Sinclair rushes over to even the odds. Lyons and Petrovic put the boots to Sinclair. Lola Vice runs out to even the odds. They fight to the back.
Nattie puts Grey in the Sharpshooter. Grey reaches the ropes. Grey pins Nattie with Shades of Grey.
Winner: …and still NXT Women’s Champion, Kendal Grey
Out comes Jaida Parker. She fends off Lyons and Petrovic. Parker and Nattie have a staredown as Kali Armstrong, Lola Vice and Kelani Jordan surround Grey. Grey holds her title up high.
