Two championships changed hands at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku night two, with multiple major developments across the card.
The first title switch saw Mistico and El Desperado capture the IWGP Junior Tag Team Championships, defeating Ichiban Sweet Boys. The duo secured the win via double submission, with Mistico applying La Mistica while Desperado locked in a stretch muffler. The bout had initially been scheduled as a non-title match before being upgraded following a challenge the night prior.
In the co-main event, the NEVER Six-Man Tag Team Championships also changed hands as Will Ospreay, Great-O-Khan and HENARE defeated Bishamon and Oleg Boltin. Ospreay secured the victory with an assisted Hidden Blade on YOSHI-HASHI.
The main event saw Callum Newman retain the IWGP Heavyweight Championship against Shingo Takagi. Post-match, tensions escalated as members of United Empire surrounded Takagi, with Yota Tsuji attempting to intervene before being taken out. Newman then pressured Ospreay into striking Takagi, which he reluctantly did.
What Else Happened At NJPW Wrestling Dontaku Night Two
Elsewhere at NJPW Wrestling Dontaku, Konosuke Takeshita retained the NJPW World Television Championship against Chase Owens. However, the show closed with the return of SANADA, who attacked Takeshita and positioned himself as the next challenger.
