As NJPW continued on the road to the King of Pro-Wrestling on Thanksgiving Day in Canada, Monday, October 12th, MJF had a special message to deliver.
After the Unbound Co. (Yota Tsuji and Ares) vs. TMDK (Ryohei Oiwa and Zack Sabre Jr.) match was over, a video of MJF played in the arena. He claims NJPW is not a real wrestling company and addresses Ryohei Oiwa.
“Every top star you have ever had has left because they know this place is second-rate,” he says.
He calls Oiwa a “chubby little child” but “the best New Japan has to offer”. MJF talks about “locking the Forbidden Door” and calls Japanese wrestling a “blight on society”.
“We are going to see who the real King of the Headlock is,” he says.
MJF is willing to put the “Triple B” title on the line to “sweeten the deal”. He calls that belt the real AEW championship.
In the main event of the evening, YOH defended the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship against Robbie X. X tried his bouncing cutter off the ropes but Yoh just kicked him in the head and then delivered a rip-cord knee smash to the face. YOH pinned him with a Direct Drive to hold onto his championship.
While YOH was celebrating his former tag team partner Robbie Eagles came out.
“You have been talking about everyone living in YOH’s world? Well, I think you are living in a dream world. I am going to wake you up back to reality because that belt is MY world,” he says laying down the challenge.
YOH jokes about just beating another Robbie.
“I am full of Robbies. There are too many Robbies. I am really sorry but no,” says YOH walking away.
Eagles puts YOH in the Ron Miller Special until he agrees to put the belt on the line at King of Pro-Wrestling.
