NJPW has announced Evil’s exit from the company.
“After careful consideration and discussions with NJPW management, EVIL, who has been a long standing member of the NJPW roster will leave New Japan Pro-Wrestling at the expiry of his contract at the end of January 2026. We apologise to fans for the sudden nature of this announcement. New Japan Pro-Wrestling wishes EVIL the very best in his future activities,” wrote the promotion.
At Wrestle Kingdom, Evil lost the NEVER Openweight Championship to newcomer, Olympian Aaron Wolf. In NJPW, he has been a key member of Los Ingobernables de Japón, Bullet Club and most recently he was the leader of the House of Torture stable.
Evil is one of many names that have come up recently who could be on their way out of NJPW. David Finlay, Drilla Moloney and Clark Connors, all members of the War Dogs faction, are also exploring their options as they contracts have lapsed.
At one time, Watanabe was engaged to current WWE superstar Iyo Sky.
It is rumoured that Evil is heading to WWE.
