It has been reported that it is likely that Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize will not be back in AEW following controversy over them leaving the venue an hour before a scheduled match was set to take place.
On Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, Nixon Newell and Miranda Alize were set to take on TayJay (Anna Jay and Tay Melo), but it was reported that they either walked out or were sent home just an hour before they were supposed to be in the ring. It was reported that the reason for this was due to a creative disagreement between AEW executives and Newell and Alize.
Speaking about this matter in the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that he does not expect Newell and Alize to be welcomed back into AEW after this incident. He stated:
“All I know is I do not expect these two to be booked in AEW.”
What Has Nixon Newell Said About The Collision Incident?
Nixon Newell has spoken about the incident at last Saturday’s Collision and said that the whole thing is being blown out of proportion. Newell said that neither she nor Alize walked out of the TV taping unannounced, nor were they sent home. Instead, Newell said that she and Alize spoke with their match producer and asked if they could be swapped out with another team, as they felt having a short match wouldn’t be good for their characters.
According to Newell, the producer agreed, and Hyan and Maya World were slotted into the match instead, and Newell and Alize were given the go-ahead by AEW management to go home.
