Nikki Bella could be edging closer to a WWE return following her lengthy injury layoff.
According to WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select, Nikki Bella’s name has resurfaced in WWE creative discussions in recent weeks. The report notes that this is the first time she has been discussed creatively since WrestleMania 42, with the renewed interest suggesting a return could be on the horizon.
Bella has been out of action since suffering a serious ankle injury during a tag team match on the March 27 episode of SmackDown. The injury, which included a fracture, sprain and torn ligaments, required surgery just weeks before WrestleMania.

The setback forced Nikki Bella to miss WrestleMania 42, where she and her sister Brie Bella had been scheduled to compete in a Fatal Four-Way Match for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship. Unable to compete, Nikki appeared at the event wearing a medical boot and using crutches before introducing the returning Paige as her replacement. Paige teamed with Brie to capture the titles.
Nikki had hoped to return in time for Night of Champions in June, but she was not medically cleared. Last month, the WWE Hall of Famer revealed she was preparing to resume in-ring training, and the latest report suggests her return plans may now be gaining momentum.
