Nia Jax has addressed her long-standing reputation for being dangerous inside the wrestling ring, admitting that she has no problem with the label.
Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Nia Jax discussed the criticism that has followed her throughout her WWE career and made it clear she is no longer interested in disputing it.
“Well, you know, it’s funny because I’m always like, ‘Oh, you’re dangerous. You’re this.’ It’s like, ‘Yeah, I am dangerous.’”
When it was suggested that an element of danger comes with being a professional wrestler, Jax doubled down on her comments.
“You get in your way, you’re going to get a punch in the face.”
Nia Jax Addresses Infamous Becky Lynch Incident
The conversation also turned to Becky Lynch and one of the most memorable incidents involving Nia Jax during her WWE career. During the November 2018 Raw invasion angle ahead of Survivor Series, Jax struck Lynch in the face with a punch that left her with a broken nose.
The image of a bloodied Lynch in the crowd subsequently became one of the defining moments of her rise to becoming “The Man.” When Jax was jokingly asked whether Lynch now sends her holiday cards each year following the incident, she quickly dismissed the suggestion.
“No, no, she doesn’t.”
Jax also showed some of her physicality during the interview. Host Dave LaGreca admitted that he had no interest in allowing Jax to punch him but suggested that he would be able to handle one of her chops instead.
Jax subsequently obliged, delivering a chop to LaGreca in the studio. While Jax’s reputation for being dangerous has generated criticism throughout her career, the WWE star appears comfortable embracing the description rather than attempting to distance herself from it.
