There has been a positive update on Adam Cole‘s recovery as the AEW star continues to battle the effects of a serious concussion.
Adam Cole has been absent from AEW television since suffering a concussion ahead of a planned TNT Championship defence against Kyle Fletcher. The injury forced him out of action and sparked ongoing speculation about his long-term future in professional wrestling.
While questions remain about whether Cole will eventually return to the ring, his longtime friends Matt and Nick Jackson recently shared some encouraging news regarding his recovery. Speaking during a livestream on the Being The Elite YouTube channel, Matt Jackson explained that Cole is continuing to make progress, although the recovery process remains gradual.
“It’s step by step for him. He’s just trying to take it day by day, but he’s having improvements, which is good. So, keep him in your thoughts and prayers,” Jackson said.
Matt also spoke highly of Cole personally, describing him as one of the best people he has encountered during his wrestling career.
“He’s the gosh the best person I think I’ve ever met in the wrestling business without exaggeration. Number one, he’s the best.”
The comments represent one of the most substantial public updates on Cole’s condition in recent months and offer hope that the former TNT Champion is moving in the right direction as he deals with post-concussion syndrome.
Uncertainty Still Surrounds Adam Cole’s Wrestling Future Despite The Positive Update
Despite the positive news, uncertainty continues to surround Adam Cole’s in-ring future. Earlier reports suggested there were no immediate plans for him to wrestle again, while speculation about retirement intensified after claims emerged that he had considered announcing his retirement rather than simply vacating the TNT Championship.
AEW President Tony Khan recently addressed the situation during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, making it clear that any potential return would need to be handled carefully.
“I think it would have to be the right situation for Adam to wrestle again,” Khan said.
Khan also stressed that Cole would always have a place within AEW, regardless of whether he ultimately resumes his in-ring career, suggesting that roles such as commentary or hosting could remain available to him.
For now, Cole remains focused on his recovery, with those close to him reporting steady improvements as he continues his rehabilitation.
