A new report has cast further doubt on Keith Lee‘s wrestling future, with industry belief that the former AEW Tag Team Champion may have already competed in his final match.
Keith Lee remains under contract with AEW but has not wrestled since December 2023 after being sidelined through injury. Although he stated in 2025 that his health had significantly improved, he has yet to return to the ring.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez discussed Lee’s status following the news that Lee and former wife Michin (Mia Yim) have divorced. Alvarez stressed that he could not confirm the situation but said that the belief among people in the wrestling industry is that Lee has retired.
“Everyone has been asking what’s going on with Keith Lee. Is he ever coming back to AEW, and are we ever going to get that match with Swerve [Strickland]? Well, all I can tell you is that this has been discussed within the business,” Alvarez said. “I’m not saying this 100 percent because I don’t know. But, from talking to people, the belief within the business is that Keith Lee is done. And we’re not talking like, when he’s done with AEW, he’ll go elsewhere. It is believed that he is likely just retired.”
Keith Lee’s Last Update In 2025 Sated He Would “Certainly” Wrestle Again
Keith Lee has not posted on social media since September 2025, when he wrote that he would “certainly” wrestle again, although he admitted he did not know when or how that return would happen.
Fightful Select previously reported in June that AEW had discussed bringing Lee back several months earlier. However, the report noted that Lee had not been backstage at AEW events, and it was unclear whether he had even been informed of those plans.
Neither Lee nor AEW has publicly commented on his future, leaving his in-ring status uncertain for now.
