After being pinned by Josh Bishop in a New York City Street Fight last week, Killer Kross arrived on the scene to speak on his frame of mind to a very welcoming Philadelphia crowd. Kross could be many things; the devil, ruthless, or downright invading, but the one thing he will not do is hold talent back. Just as he said that, the Skyscrapers walked out.
Donovan Dijak selflessly pointed out that since this was a team effort, it meant that both men pinned Kross, not just Bishop. Given that Killer is offering title matches, he should be, according to Donovan, be doing the same with him. Bishop looked perplexed… Killer tried to advocate for Josh by encouraging him to speak up if he doesn’t want to be continuously treated like a kid.
Kross bulldozed over Dijak to give Bishop another opportunity at the Championship. When will this be taking place? We’ve yet to find out.
It’s been a while since I’ve seen Tiara James, and quite frankly, that’s antagonizing to the heart. Further on that point, James sounded a little too self-indulgent when she faulted everyone for supporting Zamaya. Tiara called her opponent a “fraud” for not being “top tier”. Those words are overused… Zamaya came in and speared James to oblivion.
Tiara attempted an escape and was caught. She went through a Death Valley Driver that silenced her on the spot. One and done, as the Usos would say.
Next up, we were supposed to have CJ Gallows debut tonight, but he strangely never checked into the arena. So, the broadcasters had to move on. But they will keep us apprised. However, we did get an extensive introduction on Masha, the newest CONTRA Unit member, who Josef Samael recognized as an essential part of the mission.
Speaking of CONTRA, Love Doug returned to face Okumura with Ikuro Kwon on the outside. Okumura may have taken most of the beatings, but he was binding his time when he forced Doug to say he quits with the cross arm clutch submission. At least this time, Ikuro didn’t have to intervene.
Matt Riddle vs. Mark Coffey – Opera Cup Opening Bound
After flinging Riddle over at the start of the match, Mark found himself momentarily caught within Matt’s clutches of a submission move. Coffey shot back with a running uppercut. A particularly harsh right hand from Coffey got his brother excited as he took a seat at commentary.
At some point in the fight, Mark tossed Matt outside, so Wolfgang could rough him up while the referee wasn’t looking before shoving Riddle back in. Coffey took Riddle with a back elbow. Finally, Matt was able to perform a suplex to still Coffey for a bit. A knee marked Coffey’s jaw.
This wicked lariat nearly knocked Matt out completely since it took some time for him to beat the three count. A spinning back fist sent Mark all the way to the floor as Riddle collapsed in-ring as well. Wolfgang assisted Mark back inside the match only to be terminated by a Brostone.
Winner: Matt Riddle
BREAKING NEWS Josh Bishop will have his MLW World Championship match against Killer Kross at Saturday Night Super Fight on Nov 7 in a Last Man Standing event. Also, we just found out what happened to CJ Gallows. The attack wasn’t surprising, but the lasting effect was. The Glasgow Boys made CJ bleed from the mouth by demanding where his dad is and spitting on nepotism.
I was left silent.
Shotzi Blackheart (c) vs. Rina – Women’s World Championship match
As the fight officially began, Shotzi had Rina in a headlock before being overwhelmed by her opponent’s much untamed fury to yank her by the hair. Blackheart swung through with the Tiger Fame kick. Shotzi missed with a high steaks move and was drop kicked in the abdomen. Ever since then, Rina was the one on top and being brutal about it. Love it!
Fighting out of the corner, Shotzi had her foot up and continued to advance on Rina. A wolf-like face plant stumped the Pink Devil. Blackheart hit the chupacabra in the corner as she tried to end this as quickly as she could by yanking on Rina’s body to station her away from the ropes. Rina shocked Shotzi with a judo throw in the middle of the ring. The big knee drop performed by Rina almost took Shotzi out.
As retaliation, Blackheart performed an overhead suplex. Both women laid there to gather some strength. Rina was the first to stun the other with an octopus slam. A roundhouse kick sent Rina to the outside as Shotzi gave chase with a suicide dive. The Pink Devil drilled Shotzi’s spine against the apron as the referee went to check on her.
Once Blackheart made it back inside the ring, Rina kicked the rope into the official’s crutch, then retrieved a whip she kept to the side and started to inflict pain on Shotzi’s body. Rina’s exclamation point was meant to be a sure-fire win, but since the referee that she harmed was temporarily unavailable, he delivered the count slowly, wobbly, enough to give Blackheart time to react with a triumphant Senton.
Winner: Shotzi Blackheart
