After the explosive live event of Fightland last week — I hope everyone enjoyed that — Killer Kross opened up the evening only to be interrupted by the Skyscrapers, Donovan Dijak and Josh Bishop. Donovan is so obsessed with himself that he referred to his persona as captain. Since Bishop Dyer has made an abrupt exit, Josh is all Dijak has, so calling him “kid” could result in a backhanded smack in the near future if he doesn’t stop.
That wouldn’t be a bad thing for me to witness, but it’s a simple warning. And speaking of warnings, Matt Riddle showed up to remind everyone that he’s got next. If Bishop wants a title match, he’ll have to wait. Things escalated very quickly the second Josh threw hands first. Scarlett suggested a New York City Street Fight for next week.
Soberano Jr. vs. Templario
What came as a slight shock was how Soberano was tugging as Templario’s mask, something you would usually see a non-Luchador do, unless you’re crooked. Nevertheless, Templario managed to thwart that. Soberano tried a second attempt at wrapping his legs around Templatio’s neck as he did the first time, yet he failed as his challenger threw him off.
Templario charged towards the ropes and got knocked on the head by Soberano, who was lying and waiting. Another kick to Templario’s head left him vulnerable to multiple stomps that followed. Soberano continued to bask in his advances that seem to be leaving his opposition reeling, luckily, Templario succeeded with a knee to Soberano’s chest before being bulldozed by a drop kick.
Templario has great staying power after that mess of a Hurricane Rana that was turned into a powerbomb against him. He also couldn’t counter Soberano’s DDT on the apron in time. Later on, Templario slammed Soberano on the mat after a series of switches, then pinned him with Debario.
Winner: Templario
BREAKING NEWS MLW Saturday Night Superfight will be happening on November 7 in Illinois, Cicero Stadium live on VEEPS.
Beastman and Mark Coffey entered a Lightning match where it felt like it was being handled as a joke. Coffey hilariously had enough until he was forced back in against his will, getting ploughed by Beastman. I’m reluctant to say that Mark was able to outsmart Beastman with a heavy kick to the side of the prehistoric man in order to win.
Lady Frost & Shotzi Blackheart vs. H.A.T.E. – Tag Team match
Saya Kamitani dodged Shotzi twice and made fun of it, however, her arrogance caught up to her when Shotzi repeatedly punched her. Blackheart retaliated with a few drop kicks. She was seemingly on a roll, so Lady Frost tagged herself in to speed through the process. Blackheart wasn’t prepared for that, which I believe she should have been knowing she’d be paired with this woman.
That didn’t last long. Blackheart and Frost kept arguing with each other, which allowed H.A.T.E. to capitalize on the fumbling. Rina and Saya doubled their efforts on their opposition as easily as sitting down. Rina’s impact against Shotzi resembled that of a person being launched out of a car according to commentary.
Lady tagged in behind Shotzi’s back before colliding with Rina in the corner. She had the upper hand with those shots to the abdomen of the Asian superstar. Frost was doing very well, but she constantly blocked Blackheart a few times now. So, the Women’s Champion decided to toss Lady Frost by force.
Blackheart added more pain to Rina’s body prior to Kamitani coming in to stop the count and kick Shotzi in the back of her head. When things settled, Shotzi performed a beautiful modified crucifix bomb for a near, near fall on Rina. Although, this is a Tag Team event, it surprised everyone that Lady Frost even bothered to jump in to cease the count against Shotzi. It was rather for selfish reasons, nevertheless, she did.
Funnily enough, it came back to bite her in the ass when Kamitani shoved Blackheart into Frost while she was covering Rina. During a scuffle, Saya dragged Shotzi with her outside to allow Rina to pin Lady Frost with the Pink Devil. Shotzi was irate that the match concluded in a less than rational ideal way, so she and Frost started brawling as CONTRA Unit loomed backstage.
Winners: H.A.T.E.
