Shotzi vs. Jazzy Yang
Yang celebrated a little too early when she managed to dodge Shotzi’s incoming punch and nearly succumbed to a roll up pin. The Ballsy Badass followed through with a tiger feint kick to Jazzy’s face. She’s been on a tear with that cannonball to the outside. It’s only when Shotzi’s vanity came out due to Corrine Joy filming the match, that Jazzy easily kicked Blackheart.
Yang’s nose was busted open, yet she kept her head in the game when trying to submit Shotzi. She was momentarily trapped, luckily, Shotzi was able to turn the submission around for an inconclusive, but helpful pin nonetheless.
A drop kick, a Brazilian strike and a German suplex in the corner knocked the wind out of Yang. Commentary speculated that Jazzy may have landed on her head before the rest of her body followed.
The Chupacabra almost took Jazzy to the other side. Yang countered with the Shiny Wizard. I don’t know if Corrine interfering with her phone was meant to help Yang, nevertheless, it didn’t stop the Featherweight Champion from finishing her opponent with a Senton.
Winner: Shotzi
Since winning the MLW Tag Team Championships, the Good Brothers are off to Japan for three weeks. Of course, those who remain here had something to say. The Glasgow boys want a title shot given it’s a fact that they win gold wherever they go.
It’s not brave, nor smart of Flip Sequoyah to want to fight the newest addition to Josef Samael’s CONTRA Unit, Brick Savage. Now I know what that mountain’s name is. I’ve seen countless people get thrown towards the turnbuckles, but none of them bounced the same way Flip did. The boy may as well have broken his neck after that body slam. Sequoyah was treated like a pillow wearing a blue headband. Savage tossed Flip some more, then pinned him by pressing on his chest.
Flip was left immobile on the mat, yet that didn’t stop Brick from wanting to do more. Medical tried to convince him to back up, and it wasn’t until Samael got in-between that Savage listened… however, Josef threw a fire ball at the EMT’s face. Brick covered Flip’s body with their propaganda flag. Both injured men were receiving treatment outside.
The bracket for this year’s Opera Cup Tournament will be revealed next week as we draw closer to the momentous event.
Matt Riddle vs. Bishop Dyer
As soon as the bell rang, Matt was bulldozed by Dyer’s big frame straight into the corner. It caught him by surprise, otherwise, that wouldn’t have happened. That played into Bishop’s hands as he controlled the match for the early parts. Riddle fought back, which was acknowledged by Donovan Dijak at commentary, but he fell right back into that beating we’re fond of seeing.
For a little bit, Riddle managed to trap Dyer in a triangle armbar. It wasn’t long, but it was effective. Bishop countered with a clothesline that stumped Matt down. He tried to lift Dyer and failed as his opponent aggressively hammered his elbow into Matt’s collarbone. He’s been wobbling ever since. Bishop beautifully nailed that brainbuster, yet it wasn’t sufficient.
At some point, Riddle finally started to show some life with those knee strikes that I can imagine hurt very, very much. Once again, Matt attempted to hoist Dyer, failed and was thrown away. But he did succeed with a Twisted Bro. He missed with the Brosal, yet he triumphed with a Cutter to Dyer’s End of Days. Donovan was pissed that Dyer lost, so he attacked Riddle from behind. Killer Kross witnessed that and delivered a Diamond Cutter to Dijak. Kross went down at the hands of Josh Bishop.
Killer Kross made the challenge that he will face Josh Bishop in a Championship No Holds Barred match in Tennessee.
