Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling today announced its return to Toronto with MLP Northern Rising, taking place on Saturday, October 3, 2026.
The event will emanate from Toronto Metropolitan University’s Mattamy Athletic Centre, the legendary venue formerly known as Maple Leaf Gardens, one of the most storied buildings in Canadian sports and professional wrestling history.
MLP Northern Rising will be broadcast live worldwide on pay-per-view.
Tickets for MLP Northern Rising go on sale Friday, July 31 through Ticketmaster.ca.
“We have some announcements coming in the weeks ahead that I think are going to get the wrestling world talking,” said MLP President Scott D’Amore. “If you’re excited about what you’ve seen from Maple Leaf Pro so far, you haven’t seen anything yet.”
The action-packed supercard will feature the culmination of compelling storylines from the 12 episodes of the new weekly series MLP Mayhem, which begins airing this Wednesday, July 15 across Canada on TSN, and internationally the following day on MyAEW.
Last year’s MLP Northern Rising in front of a sold-out crowd at Mattamy Athletic Centre saw the crowning of the inaugural MLP men’s and women’s Canadian champions. The 2025 event also saw the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Title defended, and featured top Canadian talents alongside many contracted wrestlers from AEW, TNA Wrestling, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and more.
For decades, the former Maple Leaf Gardens hosted giants of the ring including Canadian icons Whipper Billy Watson, Gene Kiniski and Bret Hart, as well some of the biggest names in wrestling history such as Buddy Rogers, Lou Thesz, Bruno Sammartino, Ric Flair, Harley Race and Andre the Giant.
