AEW World Champion MJF has offered a former WWE World Champion a shot at the AEW World Title.
Following his appearance on the January 21 episode of AEW Dynamite, the AEW World Champion made a surprise call-in to Busted Open Radio to promote All Elite Wrestling and address the growing list of wrestlers eyeing his title.
During the exchange, MJF turned his attention directly to Busted Open co-host and current TNA Wrestling star Nic Nemeth, openly floating the idea of a future AEW World Title defence against him. MJF made it clear that, alongside names such as Samoa Joe, “Hangman” Adam Page, Swerve Strickland, and Brody King, Nemeth was firmly on his radar.
“Listen, if you watched AEW last night, you realise the tale of the tape is this: I’m the greatest wrestler on God’s green earth. I have the championship that everybody wants. Samoa Joe wants it, Hangman (Adam Page) wants it, Swerve (Strickland) wants it, Brody King wants it, the list goes on, ya mama wants it, everybody wants it. So enough with the music talk. Get to reviewing my show. All Elite Wrestling’s on a tear right now, and also, (Nic) Nemeth, whenever you find your balls, let me know, I’d love to wrestle you for the title as well. Good day, sir.”
Nemeth responded by stressing that his immediate focus remains the TNA World Championship, but he did not dismiss the challenge outright. While surprised to be mentioned amid AEW’s main event landscape, Nemeth admitted he would be interested in stepping into the ring with MJF should the opportunity arise.
“Wow, what a call. I was just offered an AEW Title shot… I’m really focused, surprisingly, on the TNA World Title tonight, possibly even, but wow, AEW Champion, especially with all those, you got Swerve and Hangman and Joe all going after MJF, and he’s thinking about me. I’m on board. I like that. I always wondered if he could hang in the ring. We’ll find out one day, I guess.”
For now, the exchange adds another intriguing name to the ever-growing list of wrestlers circling MJF’s championship reign.
When Did MJF Win The AEW World Title?
MJF recaptured the AEW World Championship at the World End pay-per-view on December 27, 2025, defeating Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and “Hangman” Adam Page in a four-way match. MJF cashed in his Casino Gauntlet contract to insert himself into the match, which was originally scheduled to be a three-way bout.
He previously held the company’s top prize for 406 days after winning it from Jon Moxley at Full Gear in 2022, losing the title to Samoa Joe at Worlds End in 2023.
